TOP TECH COMPANIES IN NIGERIA

Technology firms, usually referred to as tech companies, are businesses that focus on employing technology to provide answers in areas such as manufacturing, banking, medicine, and so on. Often Tech companies are usually referred to as IT companies. There are many tech companies in Nigeria however, some of them have built a solid name over time.

Over the years, there have been various improvements in the tech industry. Contrary to many beliefs, tech companies didn’t start in the early 20s. They became popular in the 20s due to civilization. Below are some of the early tech companies, though some might be extinct.

Types of Tech Companies

There are various kinds of tech companies, as all tech companies do not perform the same responsibilities. Below are the types of tech companies and how they operate in their fields.

1. Managed Service Provider (MSP):

A Managed Service Provider is the most common type of tech company. This type of company provides IT services on a B2B basis to other companies. Working with an MSP is like outsourcing your IT department.

2. Break Fix IT Services Provider:

The difference between an MSP and a break-fix provider is unclear to the layman. While MSP focuses on big organizations, break-fix companies are like tech surgeons for small-scale businesses with IT needs.

Instead of paying contractual fees to engage their services like MPS, break-fix companies just come in and fix the IT issue and receive payments on an hourly basis. When there is an IT issue or damage, Break Fit IT comes in to fix it and go.

3. Monitoring & Hourly IT Services Provider:

This tech company type is a hybrid between MPS and a break-fix provider. They install remote monitoring software and other monitoring systems to assist in investigating and repairing IT issues. Since the systems are monitored, IT issues are fixed faster with the monitoring and hourly IT service provider than with the break-fix approach.

4. Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP):

Cloud solutions providers are MSPs that help clients move to a cloud system and manage and maintain their cloud properties and information.

5. Managed Security Solutions Provider (MSSP):

MSSPs focus only on cybersecurity. They fill the gap for companies that do not have an in-house cybersecurity team by offering outsourced cybersecurity services.

 6. Software As A Service (SaaS):

Saas companies host applications and make them accessible to end users using a software model. Saas companies create, distribute, and even host the data.

Saas makes it possible to purchase software with a subscription and log in remotely through your web browser or app without any knowledge of underlying IT infrastructure.
